RECREATION LEVEL 4 - BEAM

Rec 4 Beam brings together the skills and connections developed throughout Rec 1–3 into a complete, continuous beam routine. Athletes should focus on greater independence, improved form, increased amplitude, smooth connections, and confident presentation, demonstrating the ability to move from one skill to the next with minimal unnecessary pauses and without relying on the coach to tell them what comes next.

Important Note: This is recreational gymnastics, not a compulsory routine. The goal is to see a clear progression from Rec 3: athletes should remember the routine independently and perform their skills with better form, greater amplitude, improved continuity, and increased confidence. The routine does not need to have the precision or refinement expected of a competitive team athlete; the emphasis is on demonstrating recognizable gymnastics with quality, control, and independence.

REC 4 BEAM ROUTINE

This video demonstrates the Rec 4 Beam skills connected together as one complete routine. The skills do not need to be performed in the exact order shown. Coaches may arrange and connect the skills in different ways, but every routine should incorporate the following elements:

Mount → Movement → Inversion → Turn → Balance → Dance → Jump → Dismount

The goal is for athletes to perform these elements independently and continuously, with good form, control, presentation, and minimal unnecessary pauses.
